This settlement can be found only 40 km far from Budapest, approx. 10 km from the motorway M1.
To walk in the garden that formerly belonged to a Habsburg Archduke, full of bird songs among the enormous trees, is a pleasant activity in any seasons. This is an arboretum of 40 hectares contenting rare plants.
Today only the main facade with a tympanum, looking like theatrical scenery, reminds us of the luxurious classical palace of Platine Jozsef (1776-1847) who created the first decorative garden in Hungary in 1925, and brought over and made common here 300 species of plants. The only garden history exhibition in Hungary, the permanent exhibition showing Hungary�s aristocratic gardens, was established in the neo-Baroque chapel restored to its original beauty.
