Kishegy - National Parks - Balatonlelle

Kishegy is 3 kilometres from Lelle, it is one of the most excellent vinicultural area of this region. Its exhilarating, neatly treated wine is among the best ones of the country. The evocative cellars particularly attracts the wine-lover visitors, so the Kishegy lying south of Lelle with a wine-producing culture a thousand years old is visited by a large number of tourists.
We find an old sweep-pole well at the foot of Kishegy. It is worth walking from here, a way up to the chapel. The late Baroque chapel, erected in the l8th century for the honour of the patron saint of wine makers, Saint Donath, with both external and internal furnishings decorates the hill like a small jewel.
Opposite, the dwelling and press house which belonged to the Jankovich family has been converted to a Hungarian-style restaurant where one can have a meal and drinks and enjoy the beat panorama from the southern shore. The opposite shore from Tihany to Badacsony can be seen with Lake Balaton in front, its water often changing colour. Only if you have seen this can you say you have really seen the lake. The water appears differently according to season and time of the day. Sometimes it is dark green, then the colour of shiny pearl, and it can be so blue that you do not know where the water finishes and the sky begins. If you have seen it you will understand why so many artists live around the lake. This beauty cannot be described, it can only be painted.
'Parkerdo' is another well-known sight of Kishegy, where one can take a pleasant short walk.
