There is a region rich in experiences and values of the middle of Hungary, which covers around our capital, Budapest, this is Pest county.
This area is always able to provide pleasant surprises even for people who live here, because one end of the county is the Bend "above" (these are the Carpathian Basin's perhaps most beautiful mountains, the Pilisi-hills), while at the other end the "Great Plain Gate" is located. We often feel: this county is unknowable, great and offers an infinite number of adventures. We can walk its routes, view its landscapes, we can admire its cultural heritage for years, it still offers us something new to discover, to get to know and to love.
Unique landscape and natural features, rare plants, animals - the flora and fauna - are world-famous, because nowhere else will occur.
The county is intersected by the Danube, but is also connected and still remain bound up with Europe. Many people came along the Danube from up and down, who found here, what they looked for. The landscape which reminded of their homeland, the livelihood and the peace. It was the base of the ethnic and cultural diversity in Budapest and surroundings. Orderly villages, clean houses, hospitable, happy people - who are Hungarians, Germans, Slovaks, Serbs, or any other nationality - always happy to see the by-passers. The still living ancient traditions and modern European values of Hungary are mixed so naturally, as in few other places. By great artists - writers and poets, painters and sculptors, architects, musicians - the region was declared as their closest home. A lot of value was a result of their work, without which the world would be poorer.

The small town of Gödöllö, just 30 km east of Budapest, is the site of Hungary’s largest Baroque mansion and a great location for a concert and a picnic on the grounds.
