The most significant secular historical building of the village is the Szapáry Castle. A reinforced country-house originating from the 16th century used to stand in its place, which was ordered to be rebuilt in early baroque style by Felsőbüki Nagy István in 1696. In the following centuries, the castle was extended and renovated by multiple reconstructions.
Visitors enter the castle through an ornamented iron gate. The rooms downstairs are mostly vaulted, the Festivity Hall is situated upstairs, in the middle of the building. The huge vault is decorated by a wonderful stucco. Framed by braids, lines of leaves, chubby little cherubs, eagles, and mussels, the grisaille pictures (paintings making the impression of relieves) depict the four seasons; in the oval field in the middle, Venus can be seen, with her attendance.
