The Wolfberry (Licium barbatum) specimen is called the "Lyceum-Tree " has a legend of its own. When protestantism reached this region of Hungary the priory form the town of Debrecen, named Bálint converted to Calvinism. The Bishop Nagyvárad sent Canonicus Ambrosius to Debrecen in order to reconvert the lost sheep. All but Bálint were taking sides with Ambrosius. Both priests were arguing, when leaving. Canonicus Ambrosius did break one branch and planted it into the ground. The canonicus said: This new confession will survive if this broken Licium ast will turn into a Tree !" "Than it shall become a Tree " spoke Bálint priest with faith and the Tree is growing ever since.
