Probably the most significant building in the town centre is the St. Bartholomew Church, built in the 14th century and reconstructed several times.
It obtained its present shape between 1747 and 1784, yet the gothic abutments, door segments and foiled double windows of this distinctively baroque church, with its double steeple, invoke the middle ages. Its bronze baptistry dates back to the 16th century, the frescos depicting kuruc (Hungarian freedom-fighters) leaders are exceptional internal decorations.
