Jak
Jak - Description
The most beautiful of the Romanesque churches of Hungary, the monumental former Benedictine Abbey church, now called St George Parish Church, was built between 1214 and 1256 (you can see its reduced reproduction in Budapest, at the Vajdahunyad Castle).
Its delightful gateway is decorated by sophisticated statues. The inside of the church is divided into three parts by enormous clusters of pillars, and there are some 700 year-old frescos on the walls.
