Jaszbereny

Jaszbereny - Description

For centuries this was the central settlement of an ethnic group of Iranian origin called Jasz, who settled here in the 13th century.

The tower of the Church of Our Lady (Szentharomsag Square) is decorated with the Hungarian Holy Crown. The most precious treasure of the Jasz Museums (5 Tancsics M. Street) is the richly carved ivory horn that was for a long time presumed to be the horn of Lehel, leader and hero of the Hungarian tribes roving in Germany at the end of the 10th century.
The water of the Open-air and Thermal Bath (5 Hatvani Street) is suitable for treating osteo and rheumatic disorders as well as cartilage deformation.
In the Zoological and Botanical Garden (1 Femnyomo Street) exotic and domestic animals live in healthy, beautiful natural surroundings. Sporting attractions can be found in the open-air pool of the Lehel Sports and Entertainment Centre (10 Kiserdei Street), with its thermal and therapeutic baths, swimming pool and ice-rink.
