The oldest protected ancient monument of Kaposvár is the Romanesque building residue of the Benedictine abbey founded in 1061.

Following the reconstruction of the monastery with a beautiful position, 2001. August from 20 open-air theatrical and musical evenings, is in service as fine art camps' scene, from among which Szentjakabi Nyari Este rises open-air artistic festival and Bences Nap program.
