On the outskirts of Kazar, on the slope towards the Matra hills, a wonderful natural and scientfic phenomenon covers an aera of about one hectare: rhyolite tufa, eroded over millions of years.
This surface, with its white soil, devoid of plant life and its twisted knotty surface, resembles a lunar landscape.
