The town established a permanent exhibition on Feledy Gyula's 60th birthday, for the works done and presented to the town by the artist, by reshaping the house of monument character. The house and the exhibition were opened by the Miskolc Gallery in December 1988.
The building, built in classicist style, stands in the Greek quarter. It was originally a house having been converted from a barn at the end of the 19th century. The leading architect of the renovation was Szabo Jozsef.
Feledy Gyula was born in 1928 and has been living and working in Miskolc since 1955. He was awarded the Munkacsy and Kossuth prize. He gave the biggest part of his life work such as 200 works including paintings and illustrations as a present to the town in 1988. The permanent exhibition of these selected works gives a view about the artist's life work.
The permanent exhibition is made more varied with chamber exhibitions and displays of the latest works.
