The Museum is in Fo street /Main street/, a few blocks away from "ironman house". It is an original Baroque house, built as the administrative centre of the Batthyany estates. Today it is a museum housing the permanent exhibition, "Forest and Man in Zala". In ten rooms, the visitors can get a comprehensive picture of what forests mean in the life of people in the area.
Opposite the museum, in the courtyard of a classical building is the synagogue in the same style, constructed between 1807 and 1821. Today it is in ruins. Jewish people played a very important role in the life of the merchant town.
