The Ruin Garden demonstrates the largest contiguous part of the remains of the ancient Savaria. During the excavations in the Ruin Garden, 1-4th-century building remains emerged: The Imperial Palace, Public Bath, Customs House, Mercury Shrine, and workshops, potter's ovens, Roman road remains, mosaic surfaces and the castle addition.
The most valuable part is the Palace Complex. Its enormous hall was once covered by a mosaic floor, which still can be seen. Even though it is fragmented, it is still the largest contiguous mosaic surface of ancient Pannonia.
The new permanent exhibition that was opened in 2001 introduces the main artifacts that were discovered in the one-time potter's district and the territory of Savaria.
