The Dessewffy castle, which is the most mellowed building by age, belongs to the estate as well. The Rakoczi Cellar was built in the beginning of the XV. century and it is the most spacious room of the Foothills - it is 28 metres long, 10 metres wide and 5 metres tall.
It is one of the pieces of the Hungarian history: Szapolyai Janos was crowned here in 1526. Nowadays people are wellcome to wine-tasting and special programmes are still arranged. One of the most well-known cellars of Tokaj Foothills can be found in the centre of the town, on the rebuilt Main square.
In the hall of the knights there is room for 100 people and there is a chance to visit the cellars and taste wines. Six Tokaji wines are introduced. Besides the wines cheese scones are served too. There is a possibility to taste Aszu. The tasting includes six wines which differ from vintage and the number of puttony.
In the opened wine-house the wines in casks are offered in a very pleasant atmosphere. Next to the cellar a wine speciality shop works, where the bottled wines produced by the company are sold.
