The two-storey building of the Laczko Dezso Museum is situated on the edge of Erzsebet promenade, surrounded by enormous trees. The institution earlier named Bakonyi Museum expects its visitors with a permanent and two temporary exhibitions throughout the whole year.
The permanent one titled "Let us see the essence!" makes the tourists acquainted with the past of Veszprem county. The exhibitions present the results of a 100 years collecting process.
The predecessor of the today's museum - thanks to the director, Dezso Laczko - was opened to the public in 1904, at that time the visitors could have a glance mainly at archaeological and scientific finds. With the increase of the collection the establishment of a new building that could present these pieces of value vividly has become necessary.
The hall of the building is ornamented with the painting of Erzsebet Udvardi and several statues.
